About Us
K Modern is a small independent art studio featuring the photography of Kathleen McBryar. Her art has appeared in both solo and group art shows, including juried shows at the Newport Art Museum in Newport, Rhode Island and the Denver Modernism Show. Kathleen holds a joint B.A. in Art and Psychology from Albertus Magnus College. She started showing and selling her artwork in 2007, and we are excited to present her work on this website, new for 2011.

Our studio and shop space is located in Mill Park in Springfield Massachusetts. Originally powered by water drawn from Springfield's cascading Mill River, Mill Park was part of the United States Army's historic Springfield Armory. Like many former mill buildings in New England, Mill Park is now home to a diverse collection of small businesses, artists and artisans dedicated to independent work in the New England tradition of quality.

The Springfield Armory National Historic Site 		 Like the armory workers who labored in this place before us, our work is a blend of art, artisanship and pathbreaking technology. The amazing computer based photographic and printing technology that allows the unparalleled richness and color of our prints was not available so very long ago.

At the same time, we still hand mount and hand finish all of our prints to maintain the highest quality standards. No artwork that isn't perfect leaves our studio, and we're very proud of that. Most of our prints are produced to order. Given the individual hand work involved, most orders will ship in 4 to 5 business days.
